Welcome to my lifestyle blog! I am excited to share my favorite lifestyle, health and beauty tips with you. I have been wanting to set up my lifestyle blog for as long as I can remember, but I kept pushing it off– thinking it had to be perfect before I began, especially, when I find myself comparing my work to the many professional bloggers out there (which oh my goodness there are so many amazing bloggers out there!).
I think we all fall into this trap and it can keep us from reaching our potential, the jobs we want, the love we are looking for, or those health goals we want to reach. I kept running into a quote from Sheryl Sandberg recently — no joke at least 3-4 times in one week (on tea bags, my planner, instagram posts). The quote stated, “Done is Better than Perfect”. It really spoke to me because if we are waiting for the “perfect” or “right” time to do something– it may never come. In all honesty, there is no perfect time to start anything- beginning little by little each day is what leads us to our own version of perfection. So that’s when I decided to begin all that I had pushed off. My lifestyle blog, my website, the dance program I will begin this summer, and the PowerPoints I need to have prepared by April for a sports nutrition class I’ll be teaching (P.S. so exciting). Once you begin, you will see the difference that it makes. The little you do each day will make a difference in the long run. You just need to stick with it– and trust me– I’m writing this all out because I’ll need keep myself responsible and stick to the plan too.
So I’m excited and I’m looking forward to sharing my “little things in life” that make me so happy that I know will make a difference in yours! If you haven’t already, I suggest signing up for “TUT” (The Universe Talks) e-mails because they will make such a difference in your morning inbox. They’re e-mails from the “Universe” that remind us of how amazing we each are, the potential we have to make a difference, and reminds us of the goals that we want to achieve. Thanks to a friend, I signed up for these e-mails about 3-4 years ago. One of the questions it asked me when I first signed up was where I see myself in the future and what my dream job looks like— It definitely included something along the lines of writing for a lifestyle magazine in a cottage on the beach… and a few years later I received an email that said “you are one step closer to writing for your lifestyle magazine in your beach home”– it was a reminder — a simple reminder of those little goals we have that we push off. The more we do a little each day, takes us one step closer to making our dreams a reality.
Here’s to us <3
